01 / Body Measurements

Keep the tape level and the posture natural.

CHEST WAIST HIPS INSEAM

01

Chest

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the chest. Keep the tape horizontal, comfortably close to the body and avoid pulling it tight.

02

Waist

Measure around the natural waist while standing normally. Keep the abdomen relaxed and the tape level around the body.

03

Hips

Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat. Keep your feet naturally positioned and make sure the tape remains parallel to the floor.

04

Inseam

Measure from the upper inner leg down toward the ankle area where you prefer the garment length to finish. Use a similar pair of pants as a reference if that is easier.

Measurement Method

Consistency matters more than pulling the tape tighter.

A few simple habits can make your measurements more useful when comparing them with product-specific sizing information.

01

Measure close to the body.

Take measurements over light clothing or fitted activewear rather than bulky layers that can add unnecessary volume.

02

Keep the tape relaxed.

The tape should sit against the body without digging in or hanging loose. Keep it level wherever possible.

03

Record before you compare.

Write down the measurements first, then compare them with the sizing information shown for the individual product you are considering.

Fit Preference

Size is one part of the decision. Fit preference is the other.

Two people with similar measurements may still prefer different silhouettes. Think about how close to the body you want the piece to sit, whether you plan to layer underneath it and how much room you prefer during movement.

Closer Fit

A more body-following silhouette with less extra room through the garment.

Regular Fit

A balanced option when you want everyday ease without an intentionally loose silhouette.

Relaxed Fit

More room through the garment, useful when you prefer extra ease or plan to wear layers underneath.

02 / Category Guidance

What to consider across the FormVela wardrobe.

Active Tops

Measure

Chest is usually the most useful starting body measurement, with waist and overall fit preference helping refine the choice.

Consider

Decide whether you prefer a closer training silhouette or extra room through the torso for everyday wear and layering.

Active Bottoms

Measure

Waist and hips are useful reference points, while inseam can help when product-specific length information is available.

Consider

Think about the amount of room you prefer through the seat and legs, as well as whether the garment is intended to sit closer to the body.

Performance Layers

Measure

Use chest and waist as starting references, then compare with the measurements or fit information listed on the specific product page.

Consider

If the layer will regularly sit over a T-shirt, long sleeve top or sweatshirt, account for the amount of room you want underneath.

Active Accessories

Measure

Review the individual product page for any accessory-specific sizing or dimensions that are provided.

Consider

Fit requirements differ between caps, headbands, socks, gloves, wristbands and arm sleeves, so product-specific details should guide the final choice.

Product-Specific Sizing

Always finish with the product page.

This page explains how to measure and think about fit, but it does not replace the sizing information attached to a specific product. Different styles can have different proportions, available sizes and fit characteristics.

Before ordering

Compare your measurements with the information provided for the exact product and variant you are considering. If you are between options or need additional help, contact FormVela before placing the order.

Fit Questions

Useful checks before you decide.

Use these answers together with the sizing details shown on the individual product page.

What should I do if my measurements fall between two options?

Consider the fit you prefer and how you plan to wear the garment. A closer silhouette may lead you toward one choice, while additional room or layering needs may lead you toward another. Product-specific information should remain the final reference.

Should I measure over clothing?

For the clearest body measurements, use light clothing or fitted activewear. Bulky layers can add extra volume and make comparison less consistent.

Can I use another garment as a reference?

Yes. A garment that already fits the way you prefer can be a useful secondary reference, especially for inseam or general silhouette. Keep in mind that garment construction can vary between styles.

Are all FormVela products sized the same way?

Do not assume that every style has identical proportions or sizing. Review the details shown for the specific product before choosing your size.

Where can I get help with sizing?

If the product information does not answer your question, contact FormVela with the product you are considering and the sizing question you would like help with.
